If you look out at the skyline of Greenville, South Carolina—recognized as one of the most successful urban renaissance stories in the world—you’ll see much of our handiwork. We’re proud to have played a role in the development of this city that continues to win accolade after accolade. Today, Harper is bringing that same powerful impact to other cities throughout the Carolinas.
Harper ESD performed intricate upgrades to the on-site sodium hypochlorite generation system at the City of Hickory’s existing WTP. The main scope of work involved removing the existing sodium hypochlorite generation system and associated feed pumps and piping and replacing it with a new system. The new system included two new 800 lb/day generators and two skid-mounted peristaltic hypochlorite pump systems. Harper also replaced the existing lighting and HVAC system. Because the room where the majority of work took place was small and the plant remained in operation during construction, the Design Team created all of the plans using 3D technology. Harper then took these drawings and was able to pre-plan work to limit plant downtime and potential clashes with existing pipe and other elements.
