PROJECT OVERVIEW
Harper was selected to perform the site work and construction services for the design of a new academic building and auditorium for Spartanburg Methodist College (SMC). Designed for the creative art students of SMC, this new academic building is two stories and encompasses approximately 47,684 SF, and is situated on 3.55 acres in the midst of an active campus.
The building contains classrooms, faculty offices, a 250-seat auditorium and theater, food and beverage service venue, informal learning spaces, and a rooftop garden. Additionally, the facility includes a blend of traditional materials such as natural stone with contemporary design features, including custom metal panels and contemporary lighting, as well as the original polished and stained concrete flooring. The project was delivered on schedule and under budget. Harper conducted all work mitigating impact to the campus community and student life.
