Presbyterian College: Georgia Hall

PROJECT OVERVIEW

After experiencing a damaging flood, Presbyterian College contacted Harper to help with renovations to Georgia Hall, a 51,000 SF four-story dormitory. Work included a complete demolition and renovation of the interior space. Harper completed the renovation in four months, giving the college ample time to prepare for students to move in for the spring semester.

Georgia Hall is a 51,000 SF four-story dormitory on the campus of Presbyterian College (PC). Harper was contacted after the building flooded. Harper responded quickly, working with PC and their insurance company to develop a scope of work for the renovation and an accurate budget for the work. The project required constant communication with the college and the entire subcontractor team since there were no design documents.

The project consisted of a complete interior renovation of the dorm in four months. The scope of the project also included new MEP systems, new doors and hardware, new vanities in all bathrooms, and new finishes throughout the building. The dorm was originally constructed with hard wall showers and ceramic tile. Harper provided several options for PC to consider for shower construction and they elected to install a pre-fab shower unit that resulted in a large savings. Harper completed the project earlier than anticipated and the college had ample time to move in new furniture and prepare for students to move in at the start of the spring semester.
