If you look out at the skyline of Greenville, South Carolina—recognized as one of the most successful urban renaissance stories in the world—you’ll see much of our handiwork. We’re proud to have played a role in the development of this city that continues to win accolade after accolade. Today, Harper is bringing that same powerful impact to other cities throughout the Carolinas.
As the first project performed by Harper's Environmental Systems Division, the improvements to the existing Big Creek East WWTP included upgrades to the existing influent headworks and modification of the current extended aeration and polishing basins into activated sludge treatment and equalization basins, with partial closure of one basin. The project team also installed two clarifiers and accompanying sludge holding tank all on piling and an ultraviolet disinfection system. A Bulk Chemical Feed System with chemical feed pumps after the headworks and an additional smaller Chemical Tote Feed System with feed pumps at the clarifiers were integral elements of the upgrades. Construction also included small diameter piping, concrete and grading work and electrical modifications.
