Co-Ops & Internships
Harper is proud to be a ‘teaching partner’ teaming up with the Cooperative Education departments of several universities and colleges. We also fill Internships by employing students to work alongside our professional associates in construction operations, project management, as well as other critical functional areas of our company, such as marketing, safety, and virtual design. Co-Op rotations and Internships provide opportunities for real-life experiences that can be applied in the classroom, as well as to help students gain a better focus on what they would like to focus on following graduation, and what to look for in an employer.
Harper’s 2017 Summer Intern and Co-ops
“Harper provided me with a world-class internship experience. I was exposed to the pre-construction, construction, and closeout phase of different projects. Harper taught me that being a General Contractor was more than just constructing buildings, it’s about reaching out and helping others in efforts to allow growth within our communities.”
FORMER CLEMSON UNIVERSITY INTERN & NOW A HARPER PROJECT ENGINEER

Construction Career Day
Harper hosted a Construction Career Day at Rudolph Gordon K-8 school in Greenville County. With four stations focusing on engineering, drone photography, safety and surveying, the Harper team engaged students of all ages and taught them about careers in construction.
1st General Contractor in the Upstate to become a South Carolina Apprenticeship Certified Company
Trade partners and craft workers within the skilled work force are stretched thin in this active market. Because a number of workers were lost in the recession, Harper is engaged in efforts to promote careers in construction through trade associations to replenish the workforce. In addition, Harper is currently working in conjunction with the South Carolina Apprenticeship Program to develop a curriculum that will bring more awareness to our communities about thriving career opportunities in the construction industry.
