Recently a few Harper team members had the privilege of speaking to Ms. Anne Zibert’s seventh grade class at Fisher Middle School. The talk focused on the process of entering the construction field and specific systems discussions regarding the construction of Fisher Middle. The Harper team members included:
- Matt Johnson– Commercial Division Manager
- Daniel Ellison– Senior Superintendent
- Kyle Snipes– Director of Business Development
In response to the Harper team visit, Jeff Jenkins, assistant principal at Fisher tweeted multiple times @HarperCorpGC, “Thanks for guest speaking & teaching about construction, architecture, & design. Great job providing authentic learning experiences.”
Ms. Anne Zibert also tweeted, “We appreciate your continued presence and impact on our campus.”
Kyle, Daniel, and Matt thoroughly enjoyed the experience. “Mrs. Zibert’s class of seventh graders were some of the most intelligent middle schoolers I have ever been around. It was truly a pleasure speaking with them,” said Kyle.
Fisher Middle School has many unique features designed to enhance the STEM based educational environment. Color-coded, exposed mechanical and plumbing systems are just one example that students regularly examine to enhance the educational process. “It was great to see the Fisher students and teachers leveraging the design elements and systems of the school to further their understanding. I would love to speak to the students again,” said Matt.
Harper’s goal is to improve the neighborhoods in which they work, play, and live. Thus, Harper pursues opportunities to engage in community activities whenever possible.
