Harper Celebrates One Year of IDC Team

Harper’s Environmental System’s Division (ESD) seeks to meet the needs of municipalities across the Carolinas. One innovative approach that has been developed is the Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) team. This week marks the one-year anniversary of the first project our IDC Team completed. The Harper ESD IDC team partners with companies and municipalities throughout the Southeast as an on-call partner through maintenance or indefinite delivery contracts. These agreements provide pre-negotiated rates for projects under a set dollar value, taking the burden of maintenance off the company or municipality’s in-house team. Our team is also available for emergency response, regardless of whether there is a pre-existing agreement in place. We have found this to be a great way to build up our community by servicing a vital part of the city’s infrastructure.

Our Team is well experienced in these types of projects and can quickly understand the need and develop a plan that doesn’t compromise the operations of the company or municipality while delivering high-quality performance. We have successfully completed infrastructure projects ranging from emergency pipe repairs to complex infrastructure upgrades and ongoing maintenance at treatment facilities. You will not find a more collaborative and cooperative team of construction professionals.

A large part of building trust is listening. The specific needs of the Owner are always considered. The team seeks to know the Owner, their needs, and their facility in a way that enables Harper to function as an extension of the facility’s staff. We believe our collaborative approach to projects, regardless of size or schedule, provides the best team, best value, and a quality product because the Owner is actively participating in the decision-making process. This team approach has been successful for Harper on every project as well as the IDC services we have put in place. This is how we train our project managers and superintendents to approach a project, whether it is alternative delivery, design-bid-build, emergency or indefinite delivery.

The benefits to this approach include:

» Pre-negotiated rates for smaller projects
» Experienced team for maximum quality
» Ability to select your team versus using a bidding process
» Flexibility to price multiple solution options

The IDC program is a great help to many facilities large or small. The hands-on quick nature of the program allows cities and facilities who partner with Harper to feel secure knowing that their needs will be met in times of crisis. One impactful example is with the City of Greenville, SC.
